Life...sometimes

I am too short of a week...

You'd think I'd be excited to have a short week, but I actually wish it was a full week. Crazy, I know...but I have a ton of stuff to do at work and I'm worried about not finishing in time and having to work over the long weekend, which'll suck big arse donkey balls. I'm so incredibly busy, yet i still need my time to blog :) he he he

So we got an e-mail today about Rolling Stones concert tix here at work. They're gonna have a raffle for it tomorrow. Before I went to my meeting, I responded that I was interested in entering the drawing. I go to the bathroom and then get a glass of water and head to my meeting. At the meeting, one of the guys says, "hey everyone, just in case you didn't know, jay's interested in the Rolling Stones tickets," and everyone starts laughing...I frickin responded ALL and e-mailed the whole company! Frickin embarassing...I've been getting e-mails from people here at work from various departments saying how happy they are that I'm interested in the tickets and thanking me for letting everyone know I wanted in on the raffle...what a dunce I am...

I totally felt like I was back in college this past weekend. Friday, beeb and I went shopping at H&M (dude, that store is frickin huge ass) and headed out to irvine to hang out at joes, karen, tommy and joemama's, to play some guitar hero, eat, drink, and smoke a little hookah. Dude, we ended up staying up til like 5AM! We got up at around 10-ish to get ready for Belle's b-day celebration, where we ate more, played football and had sake-bombs, DURING the game. From there, beeb and I headed to Riverside for boboy and iya's engagement "meet & greet" partay...and watched the Paquaio fight, all 15 minutes of it. Pac-man frickin destroyed Morales, kinda sad, he just overwhelmed him, but that's boxing. We ended up goin back to irvine and going on an alberto's run at like midnight. It was cool. I slept at 3AM and I'm still tired... but boy oh boy, it was great.

I am an hour and 15 left...

I wish I was in line for a PS3...there are scores and scores of people who have been camped out, some since Sunday, waiting for their chance to get theirs. I've been racking my brain for the past few days, thinking how I could outsmart 400 thousand plus people and find that secret spot no one thought of going to. But alas, I could not accomplish such a feat. Damn, I could've made a quick g and got another ps3 later on...oh how I wish i was back in college, when I had no responsibilities and a ton of debt...so the extra grand wouldn't have helped me anyway, he he he. I just do not have the time nor the energy to do that anymore. Back then i could just skip a class or 5. Nowadays, there's work, and other responsibilities.

I am a long red light...

You gotta love the resources that the internet provides. Sometimes, it's just downright amazing how you can stumble onto information. I have a rather interesting story to tell about how my blog helped out someone I didn't even know. A few weeks ago, I received an e-mail from some random person I didn't know. I usually don't open e-mails like that, but the subject line was titled "Brent Galindo." Brent was one of my friends back in high school that passed away tragically in a car accident last year(was it last year or the year before? My God time flies...). We weren't that close, but we shared a lot of classes together and played IM's together. I remember hanging out w/ him a few times. Anyway, that was who the subject line was about. I learned that this person was also a friend of Brent's from the Bay Area and did not get the chance to go to the funeral. This person wanted to pay their last respects to Brent and could not contact ANYONE to get information about where he was buried. Coincidentally and fortunately, this person found my blog and read about Brent's passing and decided to contact me via e-mail. We were able to correspond back and forth and I was able to provide the information they needed. It felt so good to provide a helping hand like that. So keep bloggin folks, you just never know how you might help someone out.

Legal
I don't know if I mentioned this yet, but I got pulled over and was given a fix-it ticket on my way home after one of my softball games about six weeks ago. So they said to just have it fixed and head to the court location and get the fixit ticket taken care of(It was for a busted headlight...I think it had JUST broken too, what an a-hole). Anyway, so earlier this week, I headed to the La Superior Court in San Pedro to take care of it. Of course, I'm at lunch and I find out that the sheriff's dept charges $15 bucks to inspect the vehicle, on TOP of the $10 filing fee I have to pay to the clerk to take care of the ticket. The sheriff chick proceeds to tell me that CHP will do it for free...HELLO!?!? Why didn't the cop who pulled me over just tell me that in the first place! I didn't have time to go to CHP during the week and then go BACK to the court office...so I had to pay the $15 bucks. I just wish I had known ahead of time, and I think it sucks they don't tell you ahead of time. That lady was so frickin lazy she just had me pull up in front of the building turn on my headlights and watched from inside. Sheesh...$15 bucks for that?!?!? That must've been one of the easiest $15 I've seen someone make.

Entertainment
I'm hooked on Heroes. That show kicks mad booty. I still don't know if Claire's dad is bad or good or if Niki's gonna be a villian, cuz she doesn't seem to want to be one, and that would suck to be a villian if you didn' want to be, he he he.

Sports
I've been wating to post this one for a while...a few weeks ago, Lance Armstrong ran the NYC marathon. Check out what he said...he said it was "the hardest physical thing I have ever done." That, coming from the world's best cycler for almost a decade. He mentioned the mental blocks he ran into and stuff. Nice to know I have accomplished something he thought was so hard...but then again, he did run it in under 3 hours, he he he.

Technology
Chris pointed out something interesting to me earlier today. We were talking about the newer Windows phones and other such phones that let you chat anywhere. Kinda funny isn't it? CHATTING online w/ your phone, the exact device you use to talk to other people? You could just CALL, couldn't you? But of course, you can't just call ALL the time...it allows you to chat at your desk, at work, in the bathroom, wherever...kinda funny still though. Plus you can chat w/ multiple people. I was in training last week and the presenter was talking about how he had a Treo...and got rid of it, because he hated how it had him leashed...there was no excuse for him not to access his e-mail and stuff, it was like he was working all the time. I guess if you have one for personal use though, it's different, but i could see his point. Technology is growing so rapidly, I wonder if we'll ever hit a plateau, technologically, even for a little while.

You know you're old when...
London and I are watching TV and they start talking about Michael Jackson, and London says, "Who's Michael Jackson?"
